5 thoughts on “Only the mercy of God that gives us the grace to move on”
Colossians 1:23-25 “if indeed you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope of the gospel you heard, which has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant. 24Now I rejoice in my sufferings for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions for the sake of His body, which is the church. 25I became its servant by the commission God gave me to fully proclaim to you the word of God,”
Luke 1:77-78 “to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, 78because of the tender mercy of our God,”
1 Timothy 1:13, Paul says, “Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy.”
Grace is getting what we don’t deserve, and mercy is not getting what we do deserve.
This like you I must strive to do better! As I’m a mere fallen sinful human flesh and soul being thereby the dichotomy of life in this world is continually a struggle within me and all around as well; truly a battle for my soul which can go only one of two ways! But I know and declare that I belong to Jesus Christ and through Him the Father in heaven sends the Comforter to teach me all things and bring me closer to His truth and infinite understanding.
Matthew 22:36-38 “Teacher, which commandment is the greatest in the Law?” 37 Jesus declared, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38This is the first and greatest commandment.”
As Jesus Christ Himself plainly and most assuredly told us!
John 14:5-7 “Lord,” said Thomas, “we do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. 7If you had known Me, you would know My Father as well. From now on you do know Him and have seen Him.”
Now though I haven’t been consistent enough with the following imperative, it must still be an axiom that I want to live by; which is, “to try my best to live as a saint.”
Amen.
Ideally we should be soldiers for God in His service to serve Him at all times as a good faithful servant!
Matthew 25:23 “His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’”
